About Me
Illustrations by Kris Fulk
I am a freelance illustrator specializing in children's book illustrations, editorial illustrations, and character design. Marikris is my childhood nickname when I was growing up in the Philippines, when my love for whimsical and fantastic stories was born. Many things inspire me and have helped shaped my work today: being a first generation immigrant in New York City at 10; my love for anime and western comic books; my passion for fashion, which led me to start fashion design in the Fashion Institute of Technology; and lastly, my experience in the US Navy when it comes to my work ethic.
My children’s illustrations can be found in “The Missing Red Envelopes” by author Yobe Qiu, a chapter book for kids 7-12 that tells a heart-warming tale of two sisters as they celebrate Lunar New Year with their family in New York City.
